Hello!

I need to cut out an image of a sapphire from its photo, so that I could use only the sapphire (without the background, which I need to "not exist" or to be transparent) in button making and to insert in site pages that I am making with Seamonkey.

I have Photoshop, but I don't know how to do what I described. And I don't know how to save an image in Photoshop so it will be readable by other programs and seeable by Explorer.

Please, please, please help me!!!

Okay, using Photoshop or Corel, how to draw clean, even lines (though do you do much linework? most of what I've seen is very painterly)? And do you think art programs in general are better for detailed, planned work or for impromptu inventiveness?

Here via Epilogue.

I keep trying to tell people that I cannot just google an image - I will run into legal trouble. They say a reference is a reference and everybody does it, well I'm sure they do. However, when I don't have time or access to real-life observation say, for a class assignment (I go to art school) I have to use the net for a picture. Thank you for the free reference site and drawing/observational tips. They'll come in handy.

As a native Floridian, I totally understand. There is something magical and otherworldly about the place, and you've captured that beautifully here.

... Though admittedly I was never lucky enough to catch this particular combination of fauna in Florida! ;)

Personally, I'd like to see a tutorial in regards to your workflow in portraits including the favorite tools you use. You're able to produce a lot of great works in a short span of time from my pov.
